I want to share with you my 5 ways to monetize a blog, aside banner ads. Beginners to the blogosphere have to understand that making money from banners is not an easy task. Although, I know several people who are earning decent income simply from this type of monetization.
But these are 10 in every 1000 people. The reason is simple, banners don’t necessarily portray credibility. With all the unscrupulous acts online, one has to be very careful and ensure your hard earned cash isn’t diverted.
I’ve been using these methods to earn income from my blog. Actually, I only use 3 techniques, but they all work because my closest pal is currently using them. Please keep your mind open as you read along. One thing you have to bear in mind is this: every business model online requires some work.
And to make money online, you’ve got to build your spirit of salesmanship. Every business online involves selling, it’s only your role that differs. So, if you’re ready to discover my 5 proven ways to monetize your blog without banners, let’s dive in…
1. Review Products You Are Using
I discovered that to earn a decent income from your blog, you have to invest in some products. I currently use a few paid plugins and they perform relatively well. In order to reap the rewards, why not write a review of one of these products and embed your affiliate link.
This is quite simple but effective. Let your readers know that the affiliate link is your own, that means when they buy, you earn a commission. Do you know that whenever I make this statement, my conversion rate soared. I mean, my readers bought more of the product, without fear of losing money.
Be clear to your intentions online – don’t hide your face in a mask. Review the products you use, and show snapshots of how to use them. You’ll make money.
2. Turn Your Blog Into Membership Blog
There are several plugins and themes you can utilize to turn your blog into a paid membership portal. This way, you would be able to earn passive income monthly, even without doing much work. I am seriously considering this business model, although there are several aspects that you should master before deciding on this.
You must have built a loyal blog readers for months and even years. This way, you won’t anger them when you ask for monthly fee. But it works and so many people like Yaro Starak, Pat and others are doing similar business model.
3. Sell Your Own Plugin Upgrades
If you can code very well, then plugin coding is the best way to monetize your blog. It’s so simple and a two-way venture. You get to increase your backlinks, as people download and install your plugin. Thereafter, when you upgrade, you ask for a little monthly or one time fee from your users.
Or better still, you can seperate the free from the premium and add more features to the latter. This way, you get to retain your free members, build strong rapport with them and later convert them to paying customers.
4. Sell Your Writing Skills
These days, content writing has become the most sought after job online.
Freelance writers can now earn extra money to pay pressing bills. As a freelance writer, I know how lucrative this can be. For instance, when you visit my blog, you won’t even see any affiliate banners or links, you may think I’m making $0.00 but guess what, nothing less than $2,000 comes from my clients.
I write articles, blog posts and SEO contents and get rewarded for it. If you’re one of those bloggers chasing the wind and hoping to make massive sales one day, from affiliate banners, think again. Create a single page on your blog where you list your writing skills. Clients could contact you.
5. Sell Short Reports On A Niche Topic
The other way to make money blogging is to sell short reports. 7 – 15 pages of informative and interesting content is selling like hot cakes in the internet marketing industry. It’s not even difficult to write a report, as a blogger, compile your quality posts and make them into a report.
Just make sure you proofread, in order to prevent weird information.
Sell these short reports for $17 or less and watch your bank account swell.
Like I said earlier, every one of these blog monetization tips requires time and hard work. But not so hard, once the right traffic is coming to your blog. So focus on quality content, build relationship with your RSS and email subscribers, and sell to them.
